Since 2004, Holtec Automatic has been authorized to UL list control panels in accordance with the standard UL508A, “Industrial Control Panels”. All UL panels are designed, dimensioned, documented and labelled according to the UL508A.
In the United States, where control panels must of course comply with U.S. legislation, it is often an advantage that the control panel is UL listed as the controlling authorities have the right of presumption when the panel is UL listed. This means that a panel equipped with a “listing mark” is presumed to comply with U.S. law (National Electric Code). However, please note that electrical equipment outside the cable entries of the panel is not covered by the UL508A standard.
Over the years, Holtec Automatic has acquired extensive knowledge of the standards and directives covering the relevant aspects of a machine installation – namely the NFPA79 and NFPA70 (National Electric Code).
Panels provided to the Canadian market are labelled with a cUL “listing mark”. Simultaneously, the special requirements of the CSA (Canadian Standards Association) are taken into account.
Holtec Automatic has supplied approximately 600 control panels for the North American market, including for the following applications:
- Slag sorting plants
- Combustion boilers
- Dry ice pelleting
- Dry ice cleaning
- The mineral wool Industry
- The wind turbine industry
Holtec Automatic is audited on an on-going basis by the UL International DEMKO, which conducts a minimum of four inspections per year.
